Koh Samui's weather and climate generally remain pleasant the year round and it is amazing to see that you will hardly feel any breeze any time of day or night. As the island is strategically situated on the Gulf of Thailand, it offers plenty of international standard diving sites. The ideal time for taking a diving adventure is usually between March and August, with September to November being the worst months of the year.
Three seasons clearly define Koh Samui's weather and climate. The dry season running from December to February has optimum cool temperatures, light winds, little rain and calm seas. It is the best time for the tourism business and a good time for a wedding ceremony, honeymoon and exploring the landscapes. The hot season runs between March and April, with temperatures soaring to 40°C with little or no rain. Somewhere, around late April and early May there is sudden increase in the precipitation levels, which is welcomed by the local inhabitants.
The rainy season begins from September through to November and during this time, Thailand experiences heavy rainfall regularly. There is great amount of uncertainty in the weather and the ocean is usually rough with high winds. The visibility is almost reduced to 30% of the normal levels. During this time many the hospitality industry is at its lowest. For honeymooners or those seeking a wedding ceremony, the Koh Samui's weather and climate will forever have lasting appeal.
